VS.

VS. is a series of fight pieces that spun out of Tape and Scratches in which I've allowed the technique's gritty aesthetic to influence the subject matter. 

 

Generally in Tape and Scratches images I try to minimize the repetition of foreground elements, eliminating time from the pallet of narrative tools. Not so in the VS. series where choreographed sequences are allowed to develop in the composition.

 

The VS. series features my largest composition to date Chris vs Rachel, the negative for which is over two square feet. This piece also has the distinction of having been shot over the course of several days, with half of the composition shot during the daytime and half shot at night.
